Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-21
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Webaeon ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on webaeon.com. It explains what cookies are, which cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control your preferences.
Optional cookies (analytics) are placed only after you give your consent through our cookie banner or Cookie Settings tool.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device and remember information about your visit. We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage, which serves a similar purpose but is not transmitted to the server with every request.
3. Cookies we use
Webaeon currently uses two cookies, both set by Google Analytics and placed only after you accept analytics cookies. Both are first-party cookies, set on the domain you are visiting.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Category | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique users and calculates visitor, session, and campaign data | Analytics | 14 months |
| _ga_9QE9T6VVXS | Google Analytics | Stores session state for the Webaeon GA4 property and distinguishes sessions | Analytics | 14 months |
4. How we use Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our website — for example, which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, referral sources, and approximate device/browser information. This helps us improve the website and the free-scan experience.
Google Analytics is not loaded until you accept analytics cookies. If you reject analytics cookies, Google Analytics does not set or read the cookies above. In that case, Google may still receive anonymous, cookieless measurement pings (as permitted under Google Consent Mode), which do not identify you and are not used to build a profile of you.
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google's use of analytics data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Analytics Terms of Service.
5. Strictly necessary technologies
We use a small number of technologies that are strictly necessary for the website to function securely. These do not require your consent:
- Consent preference record: When you make a choice in our cookie banner, we store that choice in your browser's local storage (key
webaeon_cookie_consent_v1) so we do not ask you again on every visit and so we can honour your choice. This is not a cookie and does not contain personal data beyond your consent choice and the time it was made. - Cloudflare: Our website is served through Cloudflare, which may use security-related cookies or similar technologies (e.g. bot management, DDoS protection, traffic integrity) where necessary to protect the service. [Verify in production and list any Cloudflare cookies observed, with purpose and duration.]
No strictly necessary cookies were observed for normal visitors on the public website at the time this policy was drafted.
6. Cookies we do not use
We do not currently use advertising, marketing, retargeting, or social-media cookies. We do not use Google Ads, Meta pixels, or similar advertising technologies on this website. If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before placing such cookies.
7. Managing your consent
You can control cookies in the following ways:
- Cookie banner: When you first visit the website, a banner asks you to accept or reject analytics cookies.
- Cookie Settings: You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the website footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary technologies may affect the security or functionality of the website.
Refusing analytics cookies does not prevent you from requesting a free scan or receiving your report.
8. Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our technologies, cookie use, or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top.
